Brand Focus and Inspiration - Project 3

For this  next project, I wanted to get into designing for details with a strong aesthetic concept. After looking around, I decided that for this season, I can see my designs aligning and being inspired from the talented Proenza Schouler.

Here are a few images that showed similarity in what my direction for my collection is:

As for my external concept and inspiration, I decided to follow another passion of mine- the mixing of fashion with photography. By playing with elements like spotlights and lighting, lens flares, glass and reflection, all encompassed in a warm red dark developing room creates a dynamic designer collection that could stand along elements from both my styles and Proenza Schouler. The idea behind the photography is to shine a light on the overly posed world that surrounds us and to accept its impact but also play with the boundaries between living life through a lens and complete unconnected privacy, like the dark room used to process life's moments.

Here are some concept images I am working with and plan to develop designs from:

I found similarity in colors often used by the brand and my imagery and decided to tie the two together more through this color story, adding cold silver as an accent and embellishment color. I also want to focus more heavily on accesories for this collection since the brand has been pushing for more accesories in recent years and the concept could lead to very interesting surface details.

As far as fabrics go, I am thinking of using some lames, shearling, light reflective novelties, and finer jersey and knit to add movement.
