Project 2 Development

For initial design research, I decided to incorporate silhouettes from traditional Azerbaijani clothing and culture for secondary research. This gave more depth to my shapes and prints as i worked to create ideas around the styles of buildings. The designs I am aiming to create are stronger runway only show pieces that trickle down into ready-to-wear, but I do not have a clear cut separation yet. As far as sampling went, I traced over the shapes in many of the newer architectural elements and made layered curves out of my sample fabric. This led to some ideas to be placed onto the dress form as well as ideas for pocket inserts, or overlay elements in the clothing.
